Family Trip to the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport

Some Really, Really Cool Adventures

Two silly boys on their way to a car show in Seaside, OR.

This was a favorite that got the old two thumbs up from Max.

This car was really, really, cool.  

(But not as cool as these two wacky boys!)

The adventures continued to Cannon Beach where there was a Sandcastle building competition.

This one was based on the game Candyland.

A highlight of the visit was driving the car right on the beach!

The sandcastles were really, really cool.

(But not as cool as these two crazy kids!)

To conclude the adventuresome day, a short hike was in order.

Oswald West State Park's Short Sand Beach.

The beach was really, really cool!

(But not as cool as these two tough brothers!)

Beach Hike

Kai and Carl took a nice long beach hike.

Manzanita beach is bordered on the North by Neahkahnie mountain and Oswald West State Park.

Kai dragged a stick in the sand for a long time...

but probably not the whole six miles of beach.

Kai admired the horses and wants to go for a ride some time.

There is a lot of drift wood all along the beach.

That's Kai on the end of this piece.

The beach is bordered on the South by Nehalem Bay State Park.

It sure is hard living in such a beautiful place!

"Say Cheese!"

 

We took a trip to Tillamook to check out the cheese factory.

 

 

We got a birds eye view of the cheddar making process. (Cheddar was the cheese of the day)

 

These ladies were cutting the cheese!

 

This man was also cutting the cheese!

 

There was just a little too much cheese cutting going on for me!

 

OOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Now we have to eat some!

 

Lots of cheese to choose from!

 (The women behind were cutting the cheese! I know it's bad but I had to get out one more!)

Thanks to the great cows (and farmers of course) in Oregon for helping to make some good root'n toot'n cheese! 

We're Back!

 

We took some time off, but now we're back!

The Pacific Coast is our new home (Manzanita, OR to be exact) and we hope to keep you informed with the highlights of our new adventures! This photo is from Cannon Beach which is just up the road a bit (the formation behind is Haystack Rock). Let the fun begin!
